Digitec’s staff has been involved in interactive learning since the 1990s, and is nationally recognized for their game-based learning design and development. In 2004, Digitec was the winner of a nationally renowned Brandon-hall.com Excellence in ELearning award for a highly interactive and entertaining game-based web-based program, Credit Compass. In 2005, Digitec won the Award of Excellence from Technology & Learning magazine for Grab Todd’s Cash.
Digitec has presented on game-based learning at national conferences, including TechLearn, ASTD, Training, eLearning Guild and the Financial elearning conference in New York. Digitec’s instructional design reflects the Play to Teach Gamespace Continuum, which leverages game theory and delivers effective embedded, collaborative, game-based simulations and immersive learning environments.
Digitec Facilities
Digitec is a privately-held corporation with offices in San Juan and Orlando. The Orlando facility includes complete media production and post-production studios, including a surround sound audio mixing studio. The audio facility includes an ISDN line for remote voice-over recording and audio streaming capabilities. Digitec also has two non-linear video post-production suites, capable of editing, encoding and video streaming.
Creative
Digitec provides complete creative, including writing, graphic design, video, audio production and post-production. Our core production team comes from the entertainment industry, and our staff includes award-winning screenwriters/playwrights, with an instructional design background. Digitec provides production services to agencies nationwide, and has completed national TV spots and worked on films, including “The Blair Witch Project,” HBO’s series “Band of Brothers,” "Christopher Columbus" and the film “Swimming Upstream.”
Our instructional designers hold post-graduate degrees in their field. Our expertise in game-based learning has garnered speaking engagements at the University of Houston, ASTD, TechLearn 2004, and the e-Learning Producer’s Conference 2004. The president of Digitec Interactive is also a twelve-year faculty member at a Florida college and continues to teach Humanities as distance learning to undergraduate students.
Technical Experience
Digitec's onsite IT staff provides web application design and development, Flash animation, programming in ASP, ColdFusion, XML, php, Java, Flash, Macromedia Director, and streaming audio and video encoding. Digitec’s interactive products have won multiple Axiem awards, ARDA awards as well as the Brandon Hall Excellence in eLearning award.
From a technology perspective, Digitec’s staff has expertise in Microsoft SQL, IIS Servers, and Microsoft Exchange servers, as well as integration expertise with IBM eSeries servers, Oracle, and other platforms.
Digitec follows standard e-learning development methodologies and standards, including AICC, SCORM, and Reg. 508. In addition to adhering to these standards in custom content development, Digitec has developed its Knowledge Direct® WEB e-Learning rapid delivery system to be SCORM, 508 and AICC conformant. The Knowledge Direct-to-WEB feature enables content managers to create modules in Microsoft PowerPoint, insert KDWEB games and interactive activities and then convert the PowerPoint files to SCORM and AICC-conformant learning objects. Digitec has tested its learning objects for SCORM conformance at the ADL Co-Lab in Orlando, Florida.
