VERITAS Backup Exec 9.1 and 10.0 resellers now have a new tool to help them prepare sales quotes automatically.

Networks are becoming more complicated, but now selling the right software is as easy as
1-2-3.

Digitec created a Flash application called the Configurator that enables a sales rep to walk through the selling process. Like a Wizard, the step-by-step application tailors the questions based on the responses and automatically creates a list of products the customer needs, including quantities, product number, etc. The reseller can then save the configuration, print it for the client, or email the HTML output to VERITAS for fulfillment—right on the spot!

The configurator, which is XML-driven and programmed in Flash, is downloaded from the VERITAS web site and installed locally, so it’s always available, saving resellers valuable time and effort.

Digitec just recently created a version of the Configurator for Dell.
